Diana K. Cochrane


As shareholder of Downs & Stanford, P.C., Ms. Cochrane’s practice in both Texas and Louisiana focuses on commercial litigation and insurance defense, including bad faith. Diana’s work for commercial clients includes contract reviews and negotiations. She believes the best outcomes in litigation are the result of becoming acquainted with clients’ needs, thorough preparation, and a deep understanding of each case.

Diana is a skilled brief writer with published opinions in state and federal courts in Texas and Louisiana. Diana leverages her strong research and detailed legal analysis for clients’ benefit in both trial and appellate courts. Prior to joining the firm, Diana practiced at renowned litigation firms in both Texas and Louisiana. Before attending law school, Ms. Cochrane served as a middle and high school English teacher.

In her personal time, Diana is an accomplished figure skater. She has competed as a member of the U.S. Figure Skating Association for fifteen years and has medaled at the national level. Diana also takes pride in her two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels.
